THE BIG ONE - The first joint Chief Scout Award Ceremony
We had a great day in the 21st Century Garden at Audley End
today, 16th
October.
8 young people from Harlow, were part of the 300+ Beavers,
Cubs, Scouts,
Explorers and Network from all over Essex, who received their awards from
Chris Nagle, the manager responsible for the 6-14 year age group at Gilwell.
Even better, we were also joined by the Chief Scout, Peter
Duncan who spoke
to the children before the presentations and was also available to have his
photo taken with them afterwards, which was really great for them all.
Those attending from Harlow were:
Kirstie and Christopher who received their Gold Awards
Mitchell , Matthew and Peta who received their
Silver Awards
Michael , Michael and Aaron who received their Bronze
Awards.
Audley End did us proud. All the young people and their families
were
given free entry to both the house and gardens. They provided separate
drinks and snacks in the 21st Century for us all so that we didn't have to
queue at the main house, and also a temporary stall with souvenirs for
sale.
The sun shone all day and there was very little wind, what
a difference
from last time!
